About Kitty

British designer Katriona Alice (Kitty) has worked at some of Europe’s leading architectural and interior design firms, including Spencer Architecture, Filer&COX and FG Stijl. With this experience Kitty has created stunning private residences and bespoke hospitality designs and has built her reputation by turning client’s ideas into beautifully crafted spaces.

Kitty grew up in the UK, moving house every two years as a child. "You could say this is where my love for architecture and interior design came from. We always had a fresh pallet to create a new design from and make a new type of home", she shares.

Kitty was always passionate about art and mathematics, so it was only natural that she would end up forging her career in architecture and design. She started her artistic path early, with a fine art and sculptural scholarship to Bryanston school, after which she completed an art and design foundation course, at Kingston University. Seeking more practical applications for her art Kitty decided to turn her hand to architectural studies and completed a Masters at the Welsh School of Architecture with exceptional results.

Kitty completed her internship years with two companies, one a sustainable architectural firm in Amsterdam and the other a heritage residential company in Hampshire. Her experience at these firms created a broad foundation of education to commence her professional career.

She started her career as an Architectural Consultant in London working on high end residential and private members clubs with projects such as, The Dover Street Arts Club, Lanesborough Spa and The Farmers Club. It was during this role that she realised she had quite the affinity for interior design and decided to make a career move into interior architecture.  So she took a leap of faith and accepted a role in Amsterdam working on 5* boutique hotels and restaurants, such as Park Centraal Hotel (Amsterdam), Carlton Hotel Collection (Edinburgh) and Kempinski (Munich).

During the course of her professional journey, thus far Kitty has been involved in; 36 Private Residences, 14 Luxury Hotels, 5 Cafe / Restaurant / Bars, 4 Private Members Clubs, 4 School, 2 Offices & 1 Luxury Spa. When talking about her experience Kitty states, "No project is ever the same, your skills have to be malleable and evolve wherever the project needs them. That's the fun behind design, you're constantly learning no matter how many projects you have under your belt."

Now after many years of working under some great names Kitty has decided it is time to start projects of her own. So in 2018 Katriona Alice was established as an Anglo-Dutch Architectural and Interior Design Firm.
